Brahms on the Bluff Continues with ‘The Voice of the Violin’

WHAT: The second season of Brahms on the Bluff continues with The Voice of the Violin, a concert featuring three lyrical and intense violin-piano duo sonatas that have taken their place as the indisputable classics of the genre. The Four Piano Pieces op. 119, Brahms’s final works for piano, will be performed by David Allen Wehr, the Jack W. Geltz Distinguished Piano Chair in the Mary Pappert School of Music, and violinist Rachel Stegeman, adjunct professor of violin at Duquesne.

An informative discussion will precede the performance, and a complimentary public reception follows. Suggested donation is $10.

Brahms on the Bluff is the historic three-year concert series of the complete chamber music of Johannes Brahms at Duquesne University’s Mary Pappert School of Music.
