WHAT: The Duquesne University Tamburitzans will
be hosting auditions for talent for the 2007-2008
performing season. Graduating high school
seniors and current college undergraduates
with dance, vocal or musical talent may audition
for a spot in the ensemble, which performs
the music, songs and dances of Eastern Europe
and neighboring cultures.
Experienced dancers (folk, ballet, jazz, tap,
classic), singers (folk, classical, musical theatre)
and instrumentalists (clarinet, flute, violin,
string bass, accordion, folk guitar, folk instruments,
tamburitza, bandura, bayan, etc.) are needed to
fill positions for next season’s production.
Prior folk arts experience is desired, but not
necessary.

The Duquesne
University Tamburitzans are dedicated to preserving
and perpetuating cultural heritages through performance,
while awarding scholarships to talented and deserving
student performers. This year, they are celebrating
their 70th anniversary as America’s longest-running
multicultural song and dance company. The Tamburitzans
perform from coast to coast, averaging approximately
80 shows per season.
