Jean Langlais Centennial Celebration Conference

Brahms on the Bluff: Four Factor
The final concert of the second season of Brahms on the Bluff, this performance showcases Brahms’s eagerly awaited first two string quartets, completed when the composer was 40 years old, as well as two piano works, the epic Four Ballades op. 10, and the richly expressive Fantasies op 116.  Four Factor features David Allen Wehr, the Jack W. Geltz Piano Chair at Duquesne’s Mary Pappert School of Music; violinist Charles Stegeman, chair of strings; violinist Rachel Stegeman; violist Donald McInnes, the Primrose Chair at USC; and cellist Anne Martindale Williams of the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra. 
3 p.m., PNC Recital Hall, Pappert Music School, Duquesne University. Suggested donation: $10.  A 2:15 p.m. informative talk precedes the concert.  Call 412.396.6083 for further information.
