Darwin Day 2006 -- The Importance of the Fossil Record for Evolutionary Biology: Friday, Feb. 10, 2006

Jan. 25, 2006

Dr. Derek Briggs, a paleontologist at Yale University, will explore the fossil record and focus on the earliest known animal fossils -- those of the Ediacaran and Cambrian periods. He also will examine how fossils are formed, how they are studied and explain what they can tell us about the evolution of animal life.

Held in the Pappert Lecture Hall of the Bayer Learning Center, the presentation begins at 7:00 p.m., followed by an open discussion and reception. Admission is free -- the program is open to the public. Visit www.science.duq.edu/darwinday to register and get more information.
