Journalist Who Chronicled the NBA’s African-Americans Pioneers Visits Duquesne University for Black History Month

Ron Thomas, a journalist who covered sports for nearly 30 years at newspapers including the San Francisco Chronicle and author of They Cleared the Lane: The NBA’s Black Pioneers

In honor of Black History Month, Thomas will speak at Duquesne University – the alma mater of the first African-American basketball player to be drafted into the NBA. Thomas will address the history of African-Americans in the NBA.

Today, Dec. 2, at 5:00 p.m.

The ceremony will take place on Duquesne’s Academic Walk, in front of the Duquesne Union facing Mellon Hall. The reception will follow immediately in the Union Ballroom (4th floor, Duquesne Union).
